In this tutorial, we will show you exactly how to synchronize two Google Sheets in just a few simple steps. Simply follow the steps below.
Follow the steps below to sync two Google Sheets.
Start by opening the two Google Sheets you want to sync. One sheet will serve as the source and the other as the destination for the data. Make sure these two sheets are easily accessible on your screen.
Check the data you want to sync in the source sheet. Ensure that it’s organized and ready for sharing. You might want to highlight and copy both the URL and the range of cells you plan to sync from the source sheet.
In the destination sheet, click on the cell where you want the synced data to appear. Type =IMPORTRANGE("URL", "range"), replacing "URL" with the link to your source sheet and "range" with the specific data range.
After entering the IMPORTRANGE formula, you'll see a prompt asking for access. Click “Allow access” to enable the sync between the two sheets. This step is crucial for the data to transfer correctly.
Check the destination sheet to see if the data appears as expected. You may need to refresh the sheet to see updates. Ensure that any changes made in the source sheet reflect in the destination sheet.
In the screenshot below, we updated the “Department” of Employee ID 019 from “IT” to “Finance” in the source sheet, which was also reflected in the destination sheet.
