Follow the steps below to make a copy of a Google Sheet without permission.

1. Open the Google Sheet You Want to Copy

Even if you only have "View-only" access to a Google Sheet, you can still make a copy of that file. Start by opening the Google Sheet you want to copy.

2. Open the "File" Tab

At the top left of the Google Sheet, click on the File tab. This will open a dropdown menu with several options.

3. Select “Make a Copy”

In the dropdown, click on Make a copy. This will create a duplicate of the sheet that will be saved in your own Google Drive account.

4. Rename Your Copy and Choose Its Location

A prompt will appear asking you to rename your copy and choose where to save it in your Google Drive. Make your selections, then click Make a copy.

5. Access Your Copy in Google Drive

Open your Google Drive to access the Google Sheet you just copied. You can now edit, share, or move the file as needed.
