Follow the steps below to connect Jira to Google Sheets.
Navigate to Google Sheets and from the menu, select 'Extensions' > 'Add-ons' > 'Get add-ons'.
This will open the Google Workspace Marketplace. Look for options such as "Jira Cloud for Sheets" by browsing or using the marketplace search function. Once you find it, click on the add-on, then select 'Install'. Follow the prompts to give the necessary permissions, allowing the add-on to integrate with your Google Sheets.
With the add-on installed, it should now be accessible from within Google Sheets. Select Extensions and look for a new menu item "Jira Cloud for Sheets". Select "Open".
Clicking on this will prompt you to connect to your Jira account. This step is crucial as it allows the add-on to access your Jira data.
Log in with your Jira credentials. This step gives the add-on permission to access your Jira data. Ensure you have the necessary Jira permissions for this.
After authorization, the add-on will offer options to select which data from Jira you want to import into Google Sheets. Select "Get issues from Jira".
Select which specific projects, issue types, statuses, or custom fields. Some add-ons offer a query builder or a selection checklist to help you filter exactly what you need. Take your time to configure these settings to match your requirements, as this will determine the data presented in Google Sheets.
Once you've configured your data selection, look for an 'Get Issues Now', 'Import', 'Fetch', or 'Sync' button within the add-on menu or sidebar. Clicking this button will start the process of importing your selected Jira data into your Google Sheet. Depending on the amount of data and your internet speed, this might take a few moments.
After the import is complete, you'll see your Jira data laid out in the spreadsheet, where you can start analyzing and organizing it as needed.
