Follow the steps below to easily unprotect a sheet in Google Sheets.
Look for the sheet tab you want to unprotect at the bottom of your document. Each sheet is accessible through its own dedicated tab.
Perform a right-click on the tab of the sheet you wish to unprotect to bring up a context menu with various options. Select the "Protect sheet" option to access its protection settings.
Within the sheet protection settings, look for options to alter or remove existing permissions and select "Sheet" if it's specifically the sheet protection you intend to modify. Click "Set Permissions."
Locate and select the "Trash" icon to lift the protection off the sheet to grant you full access to make modifications.
If prompted with a confirmation dialog, confirm your choice to remove the sheet's protection to ensure intentional changes.
The locked icon should now be removed from your sheet tab. Try editing the sheet to confirm that its protection has been successfully removed.
