Follow the steps below to draw in Google Sheets.
Click and drag your mouse to highlight the cells that will serve as your drawing area. This is your canvas.
To draw, you'll use the background color of cells. Click on the "Fill color" icon in the toolbar and select a color to start coloring your selected cells.
For adding details, utilize cell borders. Select the cells where you want to add borders, click on the "Borders" icon in the toolbar, and choose the desired border style.
To create larger blocks of color, you can merge cells. Select the cells to merge, click "Format > Merge Cells > Merge all from the context menu.
For more complex designs, conditional formatting is useful. Select the cells, go to Format > Conditional formatting.
Set up rules to automatically change colors based on the cells' contents.
To add text or shapes, use the drawing tool. Go to Insert > Drawing.
In the drawing editor, you can add shapes, lines, and text. Click "Save and Close" when done to insert into your sheet.
Adjust the cell sizes if needed to better fit your drawing elements. Hover over the line between row or column headers and drag to resize.
