Below, we explain how to use our pros and cons template in Google Sheets:
Enter the topic you're evaluating in the first table. In this example, we’re reviewing a "Remote Work Policy."
Enter the pros and cons in the second table. For example, a pro could be "Flexible schedule," and a con could be "Harder to collaborate in real-time."
Assign a score between 0 and 10 for each pro and con, based on its importance. Enter these scores in the "Pros Score" and "Cons Score" columns.
The cells for the score sums contain formulas. Whenever you assign a score, the totals will automatically update, either adding or reducing based on the assigned scores.
Compare the total scores for pros and cons. If the pros outweigh the cons, the decision may be favorable. In this case, the pros total 84, while the cons total 54, suggesting the policy's benefits outweigh its drawbacks.
