In this article we will show you how to make all columns the same width in google sheets in just a few simple clicks. Just follow the steps below.
For this demonstration a sample sheet was created, access and follow along by clicking here.
Click the cell reference box next to the formula bar at the top left side of the sheet.
Delete any existing text in the cell reference box and type A:Z followed by pressing the enter key. This will highlight all the cells in the sheet.
Right click anywhere on the sheet, from the menu that displays select Resize columns A-Z.
A pop up menu will now display with the options to enter a new column width in pixels (Default: 120) or to fit to data. To set all the columns to the same width enter the width in pixels.
Note that selecting Fit to data will fit the columns to the data within each column but the column widths will not be the same. To make all columns the same width a value must be entered.
In our example we will enter the value 160 to ensure existing data fits.
Click the OK button and all the columns will be set to the same width to the specified amount.
In our example all of the column widths have been set to 160 pixels wide.
