Follow the steps below to identify distinct values in Google Sheets.
First, determine the range of cells containing the data you want to work with. For example, if your data is in column A from rows 1 to 100, your data range is A1:A100.
For the purpose of this guide, our data range would be A2:A20.
Select an empty cell where you want the list of unique values to start. It's important to choose a location where the list won't overlap with existing data.
Type the UNIQUE function formula. For our example, you would type =UNIQUE(A2:A20).
Press Enter. Google Sheets will automatically list all unique values from your specified range in the new location.
