Tip: You can use a simple keyboard shortcut to clear formatting. Select the cells and press Ctrl + \ (on Windows) or Cmd + \ (on Mac).
Click and drag to select the cells where you want to clear the formatting.
If you want to clear the entire sheet, you can click on the rectangle between the row numbers and column letters to select all cells.
Go to the menu bar and click on Format. In the dropdown menu, click on Clear formatting. This will remove all the formatting (like font styles, cell colors, text alignment) from the selected cells, reverting them to the default format.
Follow the steps below to clear conditional formatting in Google Sheets.
Click on Format in the menu bar. Choose Conditional formatting from the dropdown menu. This opens the Conditional Format rules sidebar on the right side of the screen.
In the sidebar, you'll see a list of all conditional formatting rules that apply to the selected cells or the entire sheet.
To remove a rule, hover over it, and you will see a trash can icon appear on the right side of the rule. Click this icon to delete the rule. Repeat this for each rule you want to remove.
