In this article we will show you how to change column width in google sheets in just a few simple clicks. Just follow the steps below.
Choose which column to adjust, then move the cursor to the right border of its header. The header is the row with A, B, C, etc.
Hold the left click of your mouse until you reach the desired width. If you drag it to the right, it will make the columns bigger; if you drag it to the left, it will make the columns smaller.
The column now has a new width.

The drop-down list contains several actions. The Resize column is near the middle of the list.
There are two options to set column width via this option: enter the width in pixels or fit to existing data. By default, Enter new column width in pixels is selected, and a textbox appears for input. You can enter the specific width in pixels in it. For this example we increased its width from 120 pixels (the default value) to 200 pixels. You can also make the column width shorter by inputting a value smaller than the default size (120 pixels).
The column has now adjusted to the new specified width:
Yes! To do so, hold Ctrl while selecting the column headers. They can be adjacent or non adjacent columns.
After selecting them, just follow any of the two procedures we highlighted above.
