Follow the steps below to use our free bar graph Google Sheets template.
Start by inputting your data into the spreadsheet. Organize your data with labels for columns and rows, ensuring one axis represents the categories and the other the values.
Highlight the cells containing the data you wish to visualize in your bar graph. Simply click and drag across the cells to select them. Navigate to the "Insert" menu at the top of the screen and select "Chart" from the dropdown options. Google Sheets will automatically generate a chart based on the selected data.
In the Chart Editor sidebar that appears on the right, find the "Chart type" dropdown menu. Select either "Bar chart" or "Column chart," depending on how you wish to display your data.
Utilize the Chart Editor to personalize your chart. You can adjust the chart's design, including color schemes and axis titles, to suit your preferences and enhance readability.
Within the Chart Editor under the "Customize" tab, specify your titles for the horizontal and vertical axes. Adding a chart title is also recommended for clarity.
Examine your bar graph to ensure it accurately represents your data and is visually appealing. Make any necessary tweaks using the Chart Editor options.
