In this article, we explain what a pre-filled link is in Google Forms. We will also show you how to create a pre-filled link in just a few clicks. Simply follow the steps below!
A pre-filled link in Google Forms is a customized shareable link that directs users to a form with some fields already filled out with default answers. This feature streamlines the process by providing respondents with a form that partially contains the information you expect them to provide.
Click the + icon on the right to add a question. Enter the questions you want to pre-fill.
In the top right corner, click on the three dots for more options. Select "Get pre-filled link" from the dropdown menu.
A new tab will open with your form's questions. Fill out the fields you want to pre-fill for your respondents. In our example below, we will pre-fill Sample Question 1 and Sample Question 2.
After filling out the desired fields, click the "Get Link" button at the bottom of the page.
Once you click "Get Link," a URL will be generated that contains the pre-filled information. Click the "Copy link" button to save the URL to your clipboard.
Share this link with your respondents. When they open the form using this link, they'll see the fields you filled out already completed.
Before sending out the pre-filled link, test it by opening the link in an incognito window or a different browser to ensure that the fields are pre-filled as expected.
