In this article, we will show you how to edit Google Forms easily in just a few clicks. Simply follow the steps below.
There are many ways you can edit your Google Forms.
At the top of the screen of the Google Form editor, you'll see the current title. Click on it, and a text box will appear. Here, type the new title you want for your form.
Right below the title, there's a space for a brief description of your form. Click on this space and type in your new description or any modifications you wish to make to the existing one.
On the right side of the interface, you'll see a vertical toolbar. Click on the "+" icon to add a new question.
If you wish to delete a question, hover over that question and click the trash bin icon that appears.
If you want to change the text of a question or its answer options, simply click on the part you want to change. A text box will appear, allowing you to type in your modifications.
Each question has a designated type (e.g., "Multiple choice", "Short answer"). To change this, click on the current question type's drop-down menu.
A list will appear, and you can select a new type from there.
This icon resembles two rectangles or pages stacked on top of each other on the right-hand toolbar. Click on it.
Click on the default "Untitled section" text to rename it. Below the title, there's also space for a brief description, which can provide context or instructions for the upcoming questions.
Just like in the main section, you can begin adding questions here. The questions will be confined to this section, allowing respondents to navigate and answer in a more organized manner.
Located at the top right corner of the section box, you'll find three vertically aligned dots, which represent additional options.
A dropdown menu will appear. Select "Delete Section."
When you place your cursor over the section title area, you'll notice six small dots appear to the left of the title.
Holding down the left mouse button (or tap and hold on mobile), drag the section up or down to place it in a different order within your form.
Locate the icon that resembles a picture or landscape on the right-hand toolbar. Click on it.
Once the image is inserted, you can click and drag its corners to resize, or move it to a preferred position.
Locate the icon that looks like a play button or filmstrip on the right-hand toolbar.
You can use the search bar to find a video on YouTube directly or paste a specific YouTube video link if you have one.
Once you've chosen the video, click on the "Select" button to embed it in your form.
Make your form aesthetically pleasing! Click on the palette icon at the top right. Here, you can choose a color scheme or even select a header image to make your form stand out.
It's always good to know how your form looks to others. Click on the eye icon located at the top. This will show you the form as respondents will view it.
For added functionality or restrictions, click on the gear icon in the top right. Here, you can choose settings like collecting respondent email addresses, restricting the form to certain users, enabling response editing, and more.
Ready to share your form? Click on the "Send" button located at the top right of the screen. You'll be presented with several options, including sending via email, sharing a link, or embedding the form on a webpage.
No need to search for a "save" button. Google Forms saves your changes automatically as you make them. Once you've finished editing, simply close the browser tab or the app to exit the form. To download your Google Form, you can check out our guide here: how to download a Google Form.
