Here’s how to create a fill in the blank in your Google Forms to provide an interactive way of gathering specific responses from respondents:
Click the "+" button on the left side panel. This action will create a space for a new question on your form.
Once the space for the question appears, locate the dropdown menu labeled "Multiple choice".
Click on it and select "Short Answer". This question type is ideal for fill-in-the-blank responses.
In the question text box, write your question. Leave a space or underscore (_) where the respondent is supposed to provide their answer. For instance, "The capital of France is ____."
Below the question text box, find the "Required" toggle switch and turn it on. By doing this, you ensure that respondents must fill in the answer before they can submit the form.
To add more fill-in-the-blank questions, repeat the previous steps. Ensure that each question is crafted clearly and that the "Required" option is turned on for each.
Click on the "eye" icon located at the top of the page. This action allows you to see a preview of your form as respondents would see it.
Review to ensure that all questions appear correctly.
After ensuring your form is correct, click the "Send" button located at the top right of the page.
Once respondents start submitting their answers, you can view the collected data. Click on the "Responses" tab located at the top of your form to see the answers that have been submitted.
