Step 1: Prepare Your Accounts

First, ensure you have a Twilio account. Purchase a phone number from Twilio, as this number will be used to send out SMS messages. Note your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token as you will need them later.

Have your Google Form ready and ensure it is connected to a Google Spreadsheet for collecting responses.

Step 2: Set Up Zapier Integration

If you don’t have an account, sign up at Zapier. Log into Zapier and click Create > Zaps.

Step 3: Configure the Trigger

Select Trigger. Search and choose Google Forms.

Select "New Form Response" as the event. This trigger activates whenever a new response is added to the linked spreadsheet.

Connect your account in the Account tab.  

Under the Trigger tab, select which Google Form Zapier should monitor for new entries from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Configure the Action

Search for Twilio in the action section.

Choose "Send SMS" as the action. This will send an SMS when the trigger event occurs.

Sign in and connect your Twilio account.

Step 5: Test and Activate

Make sure to test the Zap to ensure that the SMS sends correctly when a form response is submitted. If the tests are successful, turn on the Zap to start automating SMS notifications.

Step 6: Monitor and Adjust

Regularly check the Zap’s activity and performance through your Zapier dashboard. You can return to edit the settings if your form or messaging needs change.
