In this article, we will show you how to do drag and drop ranking in Google Forms in just a few clicks. Simply follow the steps below.
Google Forms does not have a direct drag and drop feature specifically designed for ranking questions. However, you can still create a form that allows users to rank their preferences using a workaround with the "Multiple Choice Grid" question type.
Follow the steps below to set up a ranking question in Google Forms.
Start by creating a new question in your Google Form and choose "Multiple Choice Grid" from the list of question types.
In the rows of the multiple-choice grid, input the items or options that participants will rank. For example, we want to list the topics we're considering for the workshops: "Sustainable Living", "Creative Writing", "Yoga and Mindfulness", and "Digital Photography".
For the columns, input the ranking scale (e.g., 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.). It’s important to ensure the ranking scale matches the number of options if you wish for every option to be ranked.
This ensures participants provide a complete set of responses, preventing accidental skips.
This setting ensures that each rank can only be assigned to one option, preventing duplicates in rankings.
Before sending out your form, use the preview mode to test the functionality and clarity of your ranking question.
