In this article, we will show you how to extract specific data from PDF to Excel using Lido's PDF extraction tool. It's easy, simply follow the steps below!
To extract specific data from a PDF file to Excel, we'll be using Lido, which is a spreadsheet made to automate and streamline repetitive tasks. You can create your account for free using this link: https://www.lido.app/go/signup.
Begin by logging into Lido and creating a new spreadsheet. This new document will serve as your workspace where the extracted data from the PDF will be organized and analyzed.
Navigate to the File menu at the top of your Lido interface and select "Import from PDF" to open the PDF Importer tool. This tool is specifically designed to extract specific data from PDF documents and convert it into a structured spreadsheet format for Excel.
Click the upload button within the PDF Importer tool to select and upload the PDF file from which you want to extract data. Make sure it's the correct document containing the data you need.
After uploading your PDF, use the selection tool to define exactly which part of the document you want to extract data from. Adjust the selection box to cover just the relevant data, then press "Extract data" to initiate the extraction process.
The extracted data is now positioned in the active cell of the spreadsheet. The PDF importer is engineered to transform data into spreadsheet format. If the selected area consists solely of text, each line will be placed in a separate cell. If it contains tabular data, this data will be extracted accordingly.
Should the selected area include both tabular data and plain text, the plain text will be disregarded. If more data needs to be extracted from the PDF, click "Back" now. To conclude, simply close the modal by clicking the "X" button in the top right corner.
Once all necessary data has been extracted and reviewed, find the three-dot menu next to the name of your worksheet. Click it and select "Export Worksheet to Excel".
This will convert your Lido spreadsheet into an Excel file, allowing you to save, share, or further analyze the data using Excel’s extensive tools.
We hope you now have a better understanding of how to extract specific data from PDF to Excel.
