In this article, we will show you how to OCR CV data using the Lido app. Simply follow the steps below!
To extract data from a CV using OCR, we will be using Lido, a spreadsheet application built to simplify and automate repetitive tasks. You can register for a free account using the following link: https://www.lido.app/go/signup.
Log into your Lido account and go to the Files page. Click on "New file" at the top right to create a new spreadsheet, which will be used to organize and analyze the data extracted from your CV.
In your new spreadsheet, navigate to the "File" menu at the top. Select "Import from PDF" from the dropdown menu to begin converting your PDF data into a structured format.
Click on "Click to Upload" in the file importer tool and open the CV from your computer, or you can simply drag and drop the file.
After uploading the PDF, an interface will appear to select the specific areas of the PDF you want to extract.
Adjust the selection box to encompass all relevant parts of the CV by dragging the blue corners, then press "Extract data."
Review the extracted data to ensure it is complete and accurate.
For text-only sections, each line will be placed in a separate cell. For tabular data, it will be formatted as tables. If both tabular data and plain text are present, the plain text will be ignored.
Once satisfied, click "Insert at active cell" to close the dialog. If you need to extract additional sections, click "Back" to return and repeat the extraction process.
Your CV should now be extracted into your spreadsheet.
We hope you now know how to OCR CV data using the Lido app.
