In this article, we will show you how to convert a PDF invoice to Excel. Simply follow the steps below!
In this guide, we'll be working with Lido, a spreadsheet application that streamlines and automates tasks. You can start by creating a free account using this link.
Log in to your Lido account and on the Files page, and click on the "New file" button at the top right to create a new spreadsheet.
In your new spreadsheet, go to the "PDF Tools" menu at the top. Choose "PDF Data Extractor" from the dropdown menu.
Select "Click to Upload" in the file importer tool, then choose your PDF invoice from your computer or drag and drop it into the upload area. You can upload several invoices simultaneously or add them individually later.
After uploading the PDF, an interface will show up. Utilize this to identify and extract the specific data you need from your invoices.
In the Columns section, specify which datapoints you want extracted. Some will be automatically populated to start. You can add new columns in the text box, and remove existing columns by clicking x in the tag.
You can use the Extra Instructions section to further refine your output with AI. We recommend starting without any Extra instructions first so you can see what's necessary to add after.
Click Process All Files to run the extractor on your invoices. The extracted invoice data will appear in your spreadsheet.
Make sure all the data in the spreadsheet is right and complete. You can upload more invoices and follow the same steps to process them. If something needs to be changed, just reset the file, update the steps, and try again until it looks right.
After you finish extracting the data, click on "File" and select "Export values to Excel" to convert your PDF invoice to Excel.
We hope that you now have a better understanding of how to convert a PDF invoice to Excel.
