To extract line items from invoices and receipts, we'll use Lido, a tool built to streamline and automate common spreadsheet activities. You can set up a free account by following this link: https://www.lido.app/go/signup.
Log into your Lido account and go to the Files page. Click "New file" to create a spreadsheet where you can organize and analyze the line items from your PDF.
In your new spreadsheet, click on the "File" menu at the top. Choose "Import from PDF" from the dropdown menu.
Click on "Click to Upload" in the tool and select your PDF from your computer, or just drag and drop it in.
After the PDF is uploaded, use the tool to select exactly what part of the PDF you want to work with. Make sure to cover all the needed areas, then click "Extract data" to begin pulling out the line items.
Check that all line items are fully and correctly extracted in the new window. The tool will put text into individual cells and format tables correctly. If everything looks good, click "Insert at active cell" to add the data to your spreadsheet. If you need to make any changes, click "Back" to return and repeat the process.
Make sure that all data is shown correctly and accurately in the cells.
