In this article, we will show you how to import email addresses from Excel to Outlook. Simply follow the process below.
Follow the steps below to easily import email addresses from Excel to Outlook.
Ensure your Excel file has email addresses organized properly. Each email should be in its own cell, ideally in a single column. Label the top cell of the column with a descriptive title like 'Email Addresses'.
Click on 'File' in Excel, then choose 'Save As'. Select 'CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv)' as the file format. Save the file to a location on your computer that you can easily remember or access.
Launch Microsoft Outlook and log into your account. In the bottom left corner, click on the 'People' icon to access the Contacts section.
Click on 'File' in the top menu, then select 'Open & Export', and choose 'Import/Export'. This opens the Import and Export Wizard.
In the wizard, choose 'Import from another program or file' and click 'Next'.
Click 'Browse' to upload your file in CSV format. You will have options to 'Replace duplicates with items imported', 'Allow duplicates to be created', and 'Do not import duplicate items'. Choose as per your preference and click 'Next'.
Choose the destination for your imported contacts, usually 'Contacts'.
Tick the option to import CSV file then select 'Map Custom Fields'.
Map the CSV columns to the corresponding fields in Outlook. Ensure the email addresses column in CSV matches the email field in Outlook.
After mapping, click 'Finish'. Outlook will start importing the email addresses from your CSV file. Once done, you will see them in your Contacts list.
Check your Contacts list to ensure all email addresses have been imported correctly. If any are missing, you may need to repeat the process or check your CSV file for errors.
